Links and Stuff

Just want to share a few links and such that I loved recently.

First, if you are not watching Food Revolution, you should be. It is astounding to me what the attitude in this country is in regards to food. And it saddens me when I think about what children are eating. There is no way a french fry qualifies as a vegetable.....at least in my opinion.

A few people have asked about the english muffins I mentioned here. The recipe was from The Happy Housewife - here. They were really good and easy to make. I need to make another batch or two.

I won a book today over at Jenny's blog! I can't wait to see, it looks lovely. I think I connected with her through the Gratitude Community at Ann Voskamp's blog.

Speaking of Jenny, she wrote a wonderful post this week - The Worthiness of Ordinary - check it out.

And I always enjoy Ann's stuff. This week there was - weekends are for the mess and When it Comes Time to Really Die.

Kristen over at We Are That Family posted this week about teaching our children. She summed up well how I feel about teaching our children at home.....things that are important to us.....things we may not want them to learn about in a public school system. She made a great point that even if your children are in public school, we need to be intentional on what we do teach them at home as well. It's not just about being a homeschooler, but about being a parent.

That is enough for now. Have a wonderful weekend! We are off this afternoon to an Easter celebration with my family.

God bless!

Time for a Blog Parade

Abigail at Rear Window - Observations at 32nd Street is having a blog parade. Swing over and check out Abigail's blog. And if you link up you could win too!

The questions...

1. What's your favorite time of the day, and why?

I use to be a morning person, but have turned into more of a night owl. I love the quietness after 9 pm. It is usually my time to relax, read and blog. And with little ones I rarely have quiet time in the morning anymore.

2. If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of?

Does coffee count? I don't really have a favorite food, but lean towards salty snacks like popcorn rather than sweets.

3. If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be?

That everyone I know and care about came to know the Lord.

4. What's one thing that you get teased about a lot?

My hubby tease me that I have phone-a-phobia (don't like to talk on the phone).

5. If you could choose one movie, book, or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?

Little House on the Prairie...one of my favorite shows. I think I would want to be Caroline's friend.

6. If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?

I would like to be more creative and crafty.

7. If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?

We are not vacation people, but probably something like a RV trip across the country.

8. If you were an awesome singer, which genre would you sing?

Gospel

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?

I'm going to go with Abigail and say Amazon.com. That should cover everything.

10. If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?

I'm always thought I was born about 100 years too late...see above and think Little House on the Prairie.

11. If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?

Brown

12. If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be? (Doc, Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, or Dopey)

Right now and often...Sleepy. Sometimes...Grumpy, but I'm working on it.
13. What's the last album you listened to?

Don't laugh...Veggie Tales.

14. What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?

I an an ex-smoker.

God bless!

Ideas???

So, I need some ideas.

I am assuming some people are actually reading this little blog of mine and just not commenting (mom?). Big thank you to Tina for commenting...always makes me feel good to know that someone checked it out.

I will continue to blog about the girls...they are some of my favorite people after all!

But what else would keep you coming back? What else do you want to see here?

I am thinking about doing a special post of sorts each week...but what to do?

Recipes?

Scripture or something from my Bible Study?

More Photos...Photo of the Week?

Your idea here !?!

So, here is what I need from you and I'm willing to pay for it. Leave a comment at the bottom of this post about your ideas or what you would like to see or hear about. Everyone who leaves a comment will get a Target gift card.
